9/20/2019 Sunshine City Kiwanis meeting with Damian Kelly, director of community relations with Directions for Living. Directions used to be just about mental health but they soon learned they needed to add services for children which includes helping homeless families find shelter. Sometimes this interacts with law enforcement as they try to minimize negativity between law enforcement and people with mental conditions. Almost 80% of the people housed in the county jail or juvenile services have mental disorders. Eliminating childhood trauma has become a major focus in the every day operation of Directions god Living.

A great story of legal wrangling that ultimately saw 4 people hanged, one committed as insane, some mistrials, some released.
